Scott Lindsey has been teaching and tutoring English for ten years. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in literature from UCI and did his graduate work at Chapman University, where he earned an MA in Literature and an MFA in creative writing. His MFA thesis, Beneath a Banana Moon, earned the first John Fowles Award at Chapman for best student novel. His poetry and fiction have been published in various minor publications. At present, he lives in one of the local mountain communities with two dogs and two cats and is working on a new novel.
John Perham graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Riverside, in 2009, with a Bachelor's degree in English. In 2012, he earned an MFA from California State University, San Bernardino. Four years later, John earned Master's degrees in English composition and English Literature, also from CSUSB. Additionally, he holds a TESOL certificate (2015) from CSUSB.
Currently, he focuses on teaching English courses at MSJC. On his third year as Associate Faculty, John has taught English 61 and 62 and now teaches English 92 and 98 and has substituted for faculty regularly. John is a writing associate at MSJC's Learning Resources Center, having started in 2008. John also teaches weekly writing workshops geared to prepare students for assesment testing and English 92, 98, and 101 (summer 2015 and as needed.) John is co-adviser of the Creative Writing Club (fall 2016-Spring 2017).
John's poetry has been featured in Whistling Fire (2012) and other publications. His Master's thesis-turned-book, ScienceFriction (2016), is available at Amazon.com.
