A city of Banning project to build an underpass at the railroad tracks on Sunset Ave. begins in February
Students, staff and visitors to Mt. San Jacinto College’s San Gorgonio Pass Campus must take detours beginning in February to reach the campus on Sunset and Westward avenues.
The city of Banning will close Sunset Avenue in February for a 15-month project to build an underpass at the railroad tracks on Sunset Avenue. The exact start date has not yet been released, but we will keep you informed.
The detours will be from Interstate 10 at 8th and 22nd Street exits. Head south and then take Lincoln Street or Westward Avenue west to the Pass Campus.
Once complete, the project will ease traffic at the railroad tracks on Sunset by allowing cars to drive under the tracks. Sunset will also be widened to four lanes from Ramsey to Lincoln, according to city officials.
