A co-sponsored scholarship program of the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) and Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO).
The $1,000 Foundation for California Community Colleges/CCPRO Writing Scholarship program is designed to encourage students to get published. The scholarship will be awarded to a California community college student who writes a compelling news story, pitches the story to his/her local community newspaper, and gets published. Articles can also be published in magazines and other publications outside of the college. Articles published in the school newspaper or newsletter are not eligible.
Articles must be published between December 1, 2007 and May 31, 2008.
1. Community college students are asked to write, pitch, and publish an article in the local community newspaper, a magazine or other publication outside of the college. Articles published in the college newspaper or newsletter are not eligible.
2. Students must submit the completed application, the published story (with date/source), and the original submission. Mail all materials to: FCCC/CCPRO Writing Scholarship Committee care of Kathleen Bonilla, Public Information Office, Fresno City College, 1101 E. University Ave., Fresno, CA 93741 no later than July 1, 2008.
3. The winner will be announced in July 2008.
