Increased Enrollment on First Day of Semester
Students filled classrooms, offices and the bookstore on Aug. 18 at Mt. San Jacinto College for the first day of the fall 2008 semester. The college saw an 11 percent increase in students from the same period last year, bringing the districtwide unduplicated headcount to 14,501 for the semester. MSJC’s Temecula Education Complex and course offerings in the Banning/Beaumont area saw a 50 percent or more increase in student population. The official census date, which is used by the state California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office as the official student count, is Sept. 8.
