EVMWD and MSJC Collaboration to Promote Student Art
Join the Elsinore Valley Water District and Mt. San Jacinto College in the 2nd annual student photo collection “Water Wonders” on Friday, Nov. 19.
The collection of photo images by MSJC students can be viewed from 7 to 9 p.m. at the MSJC Menifee Valley Campus. Awards for the photos will be presented at 7:30 p.m.
The Menifee Valley Campus is located at 28237 La Piedra Rd. Menifee, 92584. The event will be held in Room 923 of the Business & Technology building.
About the event: The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) and Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) have partnered on a project that supports the arts and promotes student academic and professional development. Called “Water Wonders,” this photo competition highlights MSJC student photography and provided EVMWD with a permanent collection of art for public display at various locations around its district office.
The photography participants were Advanced and Intermediate students from the college’s Menifee Valley campus, led by instructor Keith Hanz. They visited various sites around the water district and photographed its buildings, equipment, and the surrounding topography.
EVMWD’s support of MSJC has allowed students to work with unique subject matter and to use learned skills outside the classroom. The competition also provided students with the privilege of having their work included in a permanent public collection.
Winning submissions will be available for public viewing in the front of the EVMWD building. EVMWD is located at 31315 Chaney Street in Lake Elsinore.
