MSJC celebrates 8th and 12th graders

June 5th event encourages youngsters to attend college

The Mt. San Jacinto College Talent Search Program is holding an event on Sunday, June 5 to encourage 8th- and 12th-graders of low-income and first-generation student families to attend college.

Mt. San Jacinto College Talent Search Program is a pre-college program that serves 600 low-income and first generation students from the San Jacinto School District who attend Monte Vista Middle School, North Mountain Middle School, San Jacinto High School, and Mountain View High School.  The goal is to encourage, motivate, and help students overcome academic, social, and cultural barriers to higher education.

There will be two ceremonies that will be held on June 5, 2011 in recognition of the 8th graders who will be moving onto high school, and in recognition of 12th graders who will be moving on to post-secondary education.
