Program open to middle school students in Hemet and San Jacinto unified school districts
Mt. San Jacinto College is offering Solar and Wind Summer Workshops to middle school students of Hemet and San Jacinto unified school districts.

CLASSES LOCATED AT: Santa Fe Education Center Room 704 831 E. Devonshire Avenue Hemet, CA 92543.
Wind Energy: Monday, June 18 through Thursday, June 21; 8 a.m. to noon.
Solar Energy: Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28; 8 a.m. to noon.
Students may register for one or both sessions.
The workshop is offered by the MSJC Career & Technical Education and is sponsored by SB70 Career & Technical Collaborative Grant and Hemet Unified School District. The goal of the workshop is to build career awareness through educational pathways and raise awareness of "green" technology careers in renewable energy-- a growing and innovative field.
Students will be exposed to solar and wind energy, as well as electricity fundamentals and to the MSJC Solar/Wind/Manufacturing Employment Concentration Certificates.
Students will make a solar thermal oven, produce solar electricity and a windmill that will produce electricity and lift weight.
