SAN JACINTO CAMPUS
Power to the San Jacinto Campus will be shut down on Dec. 27th -- while the college is closed -- so that the MSJC Facilities Department can conduct preventative maintenance work.
The Facilities Department will be completing preventive maintenance activities on the main electrical distribution system on the San Jacinto Campus including cleaning, testing and tightening the various components of the main electrical switch gear.
It is important that preventive maintenance be performed on the electrical distribution system to ensure that equipment remains in proper working condition in an attempt to prevent unplanned power outages.
The maintenance activities will require that the power to the entire San Jacinto Campus be shut down for a period of approximately 8 hours. In order to minimize the impact to District operations, a campus wide power outage has been scheduled for Tuesday December 27th beginning at 8:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m.
Please note that the District will be closed starting noon on Friday, December 23, 2011 through January 2nd, 2012.
Please remember to shut off your computers and other sensitive equipment in your offices and classrooms when you leave for the day on Friday, December 23, 2011. During the outage, District phone systems and local computer networks will not be operational on the San Jacinto Campus.
If you have any questions regarding the power outage, please feel free to contact Facilities at ext. 3105.
If you have any questions regarding local computer services, please feel free to contact IT HELPDESK at ext. 3344.
