Record Enrollment on first day of Spring Semester

Mt. San Jacinto College continues to see record enrollment as it opened its doors Jan. 25, 2010 for the first day of the spring semester.

The unduplicated headcount was 16,325, a record for the first day of spring classes. The high enrollment comes despite a 9 percent reduction in classes as a result of cuts in funding from the state. High unemployment and population growth in the area continue to be factors in the high enrollment.

Despite the class reductions, MSJC officials have collaborated with faculty to increase the number of seats available, allowing more students to attend the classes they need.

Classes and wait lists are nearly full and there are few seats available.
