Riders raise scholarship funds during MSJC Foundation Scholarship Motorcycle Run

About 100 motorcyclists gathered Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 for the 2nd annual Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation Scholarship Motorcycle Run.

Ken and Melanie Mascis of San Jacinto participated for the second year. Ken Mascis said their daughter is about to graduate high school and they want her to attend Mt. San Jacinto College.

“It’s just a good cause to raise money for scholarships,” Melanie Mascis said. “At the same time, it’s what we love to do: ride.”

Riders from as far as San Diego arrived at MSJC’s Menifee Valley Campus for breakfast and driving safety tips from MSJC interim Police Chief Terry Meadows

With Dr. Bill Vincent, Vice President of Student Services, leading the pack, riders headed for Anza, Aguanga and Idyllwild before arriving at MSJC’s newest campus in the San Gorgonio Pass. The run ends at the San Jacinto Campus for a BBQ, chances to win prizes and enjoy live music and the camaraderie.

Non-riders are encouraged to come to the San Jacinto campus, where festivities start at noon. There are plenty of vendor booths and activities for children. The San Jacinto Campus is located at 1499 N. State St. in San Jacinto.
