San Jacinto Campus Gym
1499 N. State St., San Jacinto, 92583
A national high school Math Competition supported by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), highlighting careers in Surveying, Engineering, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Cash prizes are awarded to students for the highest exam scores; students who participate have the opportunity to apply for a $5,000 scholarship during their Senior year.
MSJC Career & Technical Education (CTE) is partnering with San Bernardino Community College District; Riverside Community College District; Chaffey College; California Land Surveyor's Association; the County of Riverside Transportation Department, Survey Division; and Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District.
This is a community event open to high school students of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The purpose is to provide career awareness in Geomatics careers and scholarship information to students and their parents, as well as promoting college programs. Projected growth in these fields is "faster than average" according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A new, well-trained workforce is needed.
On our San Jacinto Campus, the exam will be proctored in the gym; resources from vendors (businesses and colleges) will be available, as well as fun, hands-on activities.
Lunch will be provided.
Park in Lot C, parking permits will not be needed.
