Women’s Self Defense Workshop
The Mt. San Jacinto College Diversity Committee will host a free Self Defense for Women workshop on March 8th on the Menifee Valley Campus.
The workshop, organized by the MSJC Diversity Committee in collaboration with the Riverside Rape Crisis Center, will provide Rape Prevention Education, Assertiveness Training, and Physical Techniques to escape from a physical assault. The workshop will be taught by Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center’s Director of Programs Debora Monroe Heaps. Heaps is a certified Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor and Self-Defense Instructor. She has been with the Center for 15 years providing direct services to survivors of sexual assault and community education/rape prevention education and sexual child abuse prevention to Western Riverside County.
The workshop will be held from noon - 2p.m. in room 805 at the Menifee Valley Campus, 28237 La Piedra Rd. in Menifee.
The class is open to all women 12 and older. Participants, who are required to sign a participation form, may attend all or just part of the workshop. Please wear comfortable clothing and no jewelry. No previous experience is necessary. Knowledge is power, come and join us!
