 The Associate of Science degree in Registered Nursing provides courses that are transferable to four year colleges and universities. The program is accredited by the California State Board of Registered Nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The program pass rates are consistently above the state and national averages.
The Associate of Science degree in Nursing is a 78-unit degree program which requires four semesters (40 units in nursing) of study beyond completion of prerequisite courses. In addition, Mt San Jacinto College offers a LVN-RN articulation option for completion of the Associate of Science degree in Nursing or a non-degree 30-unit option.
Nursing is based upon the knowledge of natural and behavioral sciences in addition to ethics and legal mandates. The nursing process is used as a framework for providing independent or dependent interventions to persons from diverse groups while encouraging personal, family, and community participation to attain optimal health throughout the life span.
