If you assessed into Math 50 (Mind Over Math), here is an independent study opportunity to practice your arithmetic skills for Math 51 (Pre-Algebra) or Math 55 (Pre-Algebra with Arithmetic) or higher classes.
Completing 5 modules in Math XL will prepare and allow you to retake the Mt. San Jacinto College Math Assessment test.
The modules are Multiplication & Division of Fractions, Adding & Subtracting Fractions, Decimals, Percents, and Order of Operations.
This is not a class, so there is no instructor. However, this independent study program will help you learn the concepts needed for Math 51. You will have access to exercises, videos, and practice quizzes.
If you assessed into Math 050 and you are interested in getting started, select the MathXL picture below:
Make sure to complete and submit your information for additional instructions and your MathXL log-in code.
(Note: you will receive your login information 24 to 48 hours after submitting your request)
Additional option: You may also complete 4 on campus math workshops. These workshops will also aid in preparing you to take/retake the Mt. San Jacinto College Math Assessment test.
Students who placed into math 55 or lower and have not received college credit for a math class will be permitted to retest if they successfully complete Math XL, attend 4 math workshops, or successfully complete the course Learning Skills 057 (LNSK 057).
