How Do I Join Puente?

  • Attend an Information Session at the San Jacinto Campus, Room 1217 on one of the following days:

    • Wednesday, June 1st  12-1 PM

    • Wednesday, June 1st  3-4 PM

    • Monday, June 6th  11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

    • Wednesday, July 6th  11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

    • Monday, July 11th 11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

    • Wednesday, July 13th  11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

    • Monday, August 8th  11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

    • Wednesday, August 10th  11-12 PM or 3-4 PM

  • Complete and turn in the Puente Student Information Sheet (Puente Student Information Sheet 2014.pdfPuente Student Information Sheet 2014.pdf ) with the complete writing assignment on page 2 of the application.

What happens after I turn in the Puente Student Information Sheet and writing assignment?
  • The Counselor and Instructor will review the information sheet and writing assignment.

  • The Counselor or Instructor will contact you about Puente elgibilty.  If you meet the eligibilty requirements, they will provide you with an Instructor Consent Form to clear your enrollment.

  • You will then enroll in the English and Guidance classes that are designated for Puente students. 

  • You will pay fees, including the $20.00 testing fee and $6.00 public transportation fee that are NOT covered by financial aid.

  • You will then attend the first day of class.  Failure to attend the first class meeting for both classes will result in being dropped from the classes and the program.
