How Do I Join Puente?

  • Attend an Information Session (Priority) at the San Jacinto Campus Room 102 on one of the following days and times:

    • May 15, 3:30 PM-4:30 PM   

    • Math 18, 4 PM-5 PM

    • May 22, 3:30 PM-4:30 PM

    • May 24, 4 PM-5 PM

  • ​If an Information Session at one of the above times isn't possible, attend one of the following days and times:​​
    • May 31, 4 PM-5 PM                    SJC Room 107A

    • June 5, 10 AM - 11 AM               SJC Room 107A

    • June 7, 2:30 PM-3:30 PM           SJC Room 107A

    • July 3, 11 ​AM - 12 PM ​               SJC Room 1206

    • July 5, 4 PM - 5 PM                    SJC Room 102

    • July 12, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM     SJC Room 1214

    • July 17, 11 AM - 12 PM               SJC Room 1206

    • July 19, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM     SJC Room 1214

    • July 26, 1 - 2 PM                        SJC Room 102

    • July 31, 4 PM - 5 PM                   SJC Room 102

    • August 9, 11:30 AM-12:30 PM     MVC Room 419

​     Please rsvp by calling the Puente Counselor at 951-487-3254 or by email at ramezcua@msjc.edu.

What happens after I turn in the Puente Student Information Sheet and writing assignment?
  • The Counselor and Instructor will review the information sheet and writing assignment.

  • The Counselor or Instructor will contact you about Puente elgibilty.  If you meet the eligibilty requirements, they will provide you with an Instructor Consent Form to clear your enrollment.

  • You will then enroll in the following courses: 

    • ​English 101, Section 1045, ​Mondays & Wednesdays 11 AM - 12:50 PM
    • English 94, Section 1191, Wednesdays 10 AM - 10:50 AM
    • Guidance 100, Section 1192, Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM
  • You will pay fees, including the $20.00 testing fee and $6.00 public transportation fee that are NOT covered by financial aid.
  • You will then attend the first day of class.  Failure to attend the first class meeting for both classes will result in being dropped from the classes and the program.
