About me...

  • Campus: In addition to being department co-chair and teaching a full load, I also particpate in various campus groups.
  • Research: My research areas have been Intercultural communication, Rhetorical Studies, and handicapped children.  That's a fairly eclectic grouping, but why be anything else? Predominately, I am a Rhetorical girl. I love oratory and am convinced of its power and necessity. I'm fascinated by the use of the pulpit for political purposes.  Specifically, I've studied the Oxford Movement in the late 1800s in England.  My studies (and dissertation) have been focused upon Henry Parry Liddon. If you're in the mood, I'll talk your ear off about this subject...
  • Personal: I enjoy a good book (I'm an adventure type bookworm), writing, scrap booking, racquetball, gardening, camping, doing the desert thing (we're desert rats with toys!), going for walks, cooking, eating, rainy days, traveling, basketball, but most of all, I love being with my family.
  • Family: Well, I'm a married mother of two amazing boys.  We play hard together, having discos in the kitchen (it helps when you're married to an AV guy), shooting hoops in the driveway, having Starbucks homework dates, coordinating the soccer and cross-country thing, and staying centered with faith and family.
