TO ALL DSPS STUDENTS & THEIR NOTETAKERS

While we truly value the contribution of all of our note takers, due to the current economic state of affairs, DSPS will no longer be distributing individual note taking certificates each semester.
Please accept our sincere apologies, but be advised that we will continue to reward our note takers with “Priority Registration” if they complete a full semester of note taking. Their services to you, the DSPS student, are invaluable.

DSPS SLOGAN:

“DOING SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR STUDENTS”

DSP&S Mission Statement:

The mission of DSP&S is to empower students with disabilities to attain maximum independence, integration, and success in a fully accessible college environment.

Disabled Students Programs & Services:

Happy New Year & Welcome Back to the Spring 2010 semester!

There are many things to update you with and some new items to make you aware of for your Spring semester. For the purpose of clear communication I have attempted to organize the information into appropriate categories. Please take a careful read and most importantly – let us know your thoughts!

Nuggets of Knowledge

Notetakers-TAKE NOTE!!!

Our note taking procedure is being changed due to the large expense of note taking paper we have been incurring each semester. Last semester we went thru a total of 4,000 sheets of 2 pt note taking paper alone. This semester each campus only has 1,000 sheets. Once this is gone, that is it. From then on, and before, we are encouraging our note takers to scan their notes and forward them to their recipients via email to their student(s) campus or home email account. They can scan notes at either the DSPS lab, the library or student lab. Our High Tech Staff, Fred and Lester, will be available to assist and will periodically have mini-workshops for our note takers to explain and show how this is to work. The dates for these workshops will be set shortly.

MONEY-MONEY-MONEY!

Now is the perfect time to fill out the application for scholarships (follow this link - http://www.msjc.edu/apps/comm.asp?Q=6). You would be amazed at how much support you can qualify for!

A lesser-known-fact:
