Career Services
Three main services are offered:
- CAREER ASSESSMENT
The career planning process usually begins by talking with a counselor. A variety of career assessment inventories may be recommended for increasing your self-awareness. These may include a comprehensive evaluation of interests, values, abilities, personality preferences, and work experiences. The knowledge you gain is useful for selecting a program of study and a compatible career.
- CAREER EDUCATION
Workshops and other events are scheduled regularly for learning how to make informed career decisions. The Career Resource Library has resources for personal understanding and development, exploring occupations, and selecting educational and training opportunities.
- EMPLOYMENT RELATED SERVICES
The employment related services include on-campus employer recruitment and interviewing, job listings, resources on labor market trends, emerging and declining occupations, and employer information. Special workshops and events are planned each semester to help you acquire the skills needed for conducting a productive job search and managing a successful career.
How can using career services help me?
The Career Resource Library has over 1,500 books, directories, materials, school catalogs, and newsletters for researching occupations and educational opportunities as well as computer-based programs. Included are over 300 audio and videocassettes for personal growth and development.
