Internships
MSJC’s Associate of Science Degree and GIS Certificate program provides an excellent opportunity for students to acquire real world experience using GIS through an Occupational Internship. Many students who complete an internship are successful at finding employment. Occupational Internships provide both the student and employer an opportunity to become acquainted. Occupational internships are a “win” situation for students who acquire skills from mentors. Several students who enrolled in a GIS occupational internship are now employed in the field (refer to Testimonials for student success stories).
For more information about MSJC’s Occupational Internship program go to http://bttc.msjc.edu/internships/ . Both employers interested in finding an intern and students seeking an internship should contact the program coordinator. The Occupational Internship coordinator will provide both parties with brochures, forms and time sheets. Once all paperwork is processed, the student will enroll in GEOG 149: Occupational Internship for the agreed upon number of units - based on the signed agreement between coordinator, student and employer.
