Eagle Baseball Wins Seconds Straight
The MSJC baseball team got solid starting pitching and timely hitting as they avenged a loss last week to Grossmont College by defeating the Griffons at home Tuesday 6-2.
The Eagles broke open a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring two runs and built the lead from there. MSJC added a run in the bottom of the 6th and 2 in the bottom of the eighth for a 6-1 lead before Grossmont scored a run in the top of the ninth.
Markalexander Game went 4 for 4 with an RBI in the lead off spot for the Eagles sparking the offense. Jeff Ricker, Vince Cananles, and Manny Mendoza each added an RBI in the victory. Mendoza finished the game with two hits. Kyle Mead also added two hits and scored two runs.
Dylan Fisher started the game on the mound for the Eagles going 6 and 1/3 innings allowing just one run on 9 hits he struck out four and walked two. Brian Roldan and Christian Herrera came out of the bullpen to pitch the final 2 and 2/3 innings.
The Eagles now 3-3 on the season will be back in action today when they travel to Mt. San Antonio for a 2 pm game.
