MSJC's Martin Signs Baseball Scholarship
MSJC baseball player Brett Martin signed a National Letter of Intent and scholarship yesterday to attend New Mexico Highlands University.
Martin, a right handed pitcher from Hemet High School, started eight games and appeared in 17 this past season for the Eagles posting a 4-3 record on the mound. The 6'3 sophomore appeared in 31 games over two seasons for MSJC and started 13 times. This past season he helped the Eagles to an overall record of 20-17 with a 15-9 mark in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play which earned MSJC an appearance in the CCCAA State play-offs.
New Mexico Highlands University is an NCAA Division II school located in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Cowboys are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and are coming off a season in which they finished the year 14-34.
Martin is the first of many MSJC baseball players expected to sign scholarships in the coming weeks.
Brett Martin pictured along with his mother, girlfriend, and MSJC head baseball coach Steve Alonzo signed a scholarship on Tuesday to continue his academic and playing career at New Mexico Highlands University. Highlands in an NCAA Division II school who competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
