MSJC Baseball Struggles on the Road

The MSJC baseball team lost three tough games on the road over the weekend including losses to a pair of ranked teams.

Thursday MSJC struggled through the middle innings in a 9-4 loss to 9th ranked Rio Hondo in Whittier.  The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but gave up 7 unanswered runs in the third through fifth innings to dig themselves a hole they couldn't recover from.  Bryan Derzern and Ben Moreno each drove in a run in the loss while Kash Mattson and J.T. Brown both had a pair of hits.

Friday the Eagles took a tough 6-4 loss in Walnut at the hands of Mt. San Antonio.  Johnny Valdez had 2 hits and 2 RBIs in the loss while Mattson and Fernando Fernandez each drove in a run a piece.  Saturday in their fourth straight road game of the year MSJC lost 5-2 to 10th ranked East Los Angeles.  Brown and Derzern each had an RBI for the Eagles in the loss.

MSJC now 0-4 on the year will play their home opener on Tuesday when they host Riverside City College.  Tuesday's game on the San Jacinto Campus is set to start at 2 pm.
