Pulcheon Signs Division I Baseball Scholarship
MSJC baseball player Jake Pulcheon signed an NCAA Division I scholarship last week as he committed to Houston Baptist University for next season.
Pulcheon, a 6'3 215 pound catcher from California Military Institute, helped the Eagles to an overall record of 20-17 during the 2016 season and an appearance in the CCCAA Southern California Regional play-offs. Pulcheon hit .318 on the season as he drove in 19 runs for the Eagles, he hit one homerun, one triple, and had 12 doubles on the year. On the defensive side of the ball Pulcheon threw out 24 would be base stealers and managed the pitching staff, as he played in 36 of the Eagles 37 games.
Pulcheon earned First Team All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honors for his efforts during his sophomore season and helped MSJC to a 15-9 PCAC record and a third place finish.
Houston Baptist is a member of the Southland Conference and is coming off a season in which they finished 24-29.
