The Marauders took the lead just four minutes into the game when Cole Starnes scored on a 64 yard run.  Antelope would score again just two minutes later on a 1 yard run from Travon Willis to increase the lead to 14-0.  The score would remain 14-0 until early in the second quarter when the Eagles found the end zone on a 6 yard run by Jomari Becnel.  The ensuing extra point was blocked, but Daniel Gascon was able to pick it up and run it in for a 2 point conversion cutting the AVC lead to 14-8.  AVC however extended the lead with just under two minutes to play in the first half when Willis scored his second TD of the night this time running it in from 2 yards out and AVC led at the half 21-8.

The third quarter saw both defenses keep points off the board, but early in the fourth AVC pushed their lead to 28-8 when Blake Shepard scored on the Marauders third short touchdown run of the night with 14:23 to play in the game.  The Eagles would make an effort at a comeback as they scored when Corwin Cutler ran in from 1 yard out with just over 7 and a half minutes left to play, but Josh Gonzalez's extra point was blocked and MSJC couldn't score again and the game ended with the 28-14 score.

The Eagle quarterbacks finished the day going 21 of 39 passing for 204 yards, with Cutler going 12 of 25 and Jake Newton completing 9 for 14.  Elijah Brown had a season high 6 catches for 88 yards and Mike Reed hauled in 5 receptions for 33 yards.  On the ground the Marauders did a good job against the Eagles leading rusher Becnel, holding him to 58 yards on 15 carries.

On defense MSJC had a pair of interceptions with one each from D.J. Reed-Samuel and Dimitri Gallow.  Tommy McCraw led MSJC with 9 total tackles while William LuLu added 8 to goa along with a forced fumble.

The loss was the first of the season for the Eagles and drops their record to 3-1 on the season while Antelope Valley improved to 3-2.  MSJC will play their final non-conference game of the year this Saturday October 8th when they host undefeated LA Valley.  Saturday's game at Carl Quandt Stadium will kick off at 1 pm.
