The Eagles jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first quarter on a pair of touchdown passes from Sheriron Jones to Michael Stewart.  The first was a 38 yard pass on the first play of the Eagles second possession of the game.  The second came with less than a minute to play in the first period from 7 yards out.  LA Valley finally got on the board with just over 5 minutes to play in the second period and cut the lead to 12-7 seeming to grab some momentum.  The momentum was quickly taken back by the Eagles however as Jomari Becnel took the ensuing kick off 90 yards back for a TD.  The Monarchs were able to block the extra point for the third straight time and MSJC led 18-7.  The flurry of action late in the half continued as LA Valley came back and scored again on a quick 3 play 40 yard drive to cut the lead to 18-13.  The Eagles had time for one more drive before the break and they took advantage.  MSJC drove 60 yards in 9 plays and capped off the drive with Jones' third TD pass of the half, this time he connected with Daniel Singer for the 7 yard score.  Singer then caught a pass on the two point conversion to send the game to halftime with the Eagles up 26-13.

MSJC scored the first touchdown of the second half to extend their lead.  Jones and Singer hooked up again for a 45 yard touchdown strike, but the two point conversion failed to make the score 32-13.  LA Valley did make a run at the Eagles the rest of the 3rd period scoring twice and cutting the lead to 32-26 headed to the fourth.  MSJC put the game away with a methodical 15 play 81 yard drive that took 8:28 off the clock and culminated in Jones' fifth TD pass of the night as he connected with Kefa Cort for a five yard score with just over 2 minutes left in the game.  The Eagles then further assured the victory when LA Valley fumbled the ensuing kick off and Tyler Freeman scooped it up and ran it back 46 yards for a touchdown.

Jones finished the game going 22 of 42 passing for 272 yards and five touchdowns.  Eight different MSJC players caught passes led by Stewart who grabbed 6 receptions for 66 yards.  Becnel led the ground game with with 23 carries for 107 yards while Jones added 68 yards on the ground on 8 rushes.  The defense was led by  Corey McKinney and Lanii Jackson-Barrow who both had 6 tackles.  Jeremiah Jordan and James Reeder each had a sack in the win.

MSJC improves to 3-2 with the victory while LA Valley falls to 3-2.  The Eagles will be back at home this Saturday when the kick off play in the American Mountain Conference.  Saturday's game will also be the annual "Palms to Pines Trophy" game against College of the Desert.  The Roadrunners will also come into the contest at 3-2 on the year.  COD won last year's trophy game in Palm Desert 30-13.
