The game got off to a fast start as Corey Maddox took the opening kick off back 76 yards for the Eagles to give MSJC a quick 6-0 lead.  Glendale would settle in midway through the first as they were able to put together a quick 5 play 62 yard drive to take a 7-6 lead.  Brett Virgil answered with 3:11 to play in the opening quarter as for the second week in a row he broke a big run to score a touchdown.  This one was a 76 yard run and the Eagles were back on top 12-7.  Glendale continued to counter punch the Eagles offense as they came right back on the next play from scrimmage and hit a 61 yard pass play to lead at the end of the first quarter 14-12.

The second quarter didn't slow down as MSJC scored on another Virgil run, this time from one yard out and the Eagles two point conversion was good to put them back ahead 20-14.  Glendale's last lead of the ball game would come with 9:37 to play before half when a 15 yard run play and the point after gave them a 21-20 lead.  From there MSJC dominated the rest of the half scoring three touchdowns in the final 4:42 before half to lead 40-21 at the break.  Virgil scored for the third time on a two yard run, Eric Ellison had a 49 yard TD reception, and then with just 8 seconds remaining in the 2nd Semaj Wren caught a Virgil pass and scored from 46 yards out.

MSJC continued to pull away in the third period when CJ Sullivan scored on a 6 yard TD strike from Virgil and two and a half minutes later Maddox got in the end zone on a 40 yard run play.  Glendale would get a late third period touchdown but the Eagles led 52-28 headed to the fourth.  The fourth quarter got a little sloppy for both teams, but Glendale was able to score three times in the period to close the gap.  The Eagles lone score of the final frame came on a 70 yard pass from Virgil to James Phillips.

Virgil ended his day with stellar numbers as he passed for four touchdowns and ran for three more.  He completed 16 of 32 passes for 341 yards and ran 14 times for 193 yards.  Wren was also once again solid in the run game with 53 yards on just 8 carries, while Phillips caught 8 passes for 145 yards. Sullivan ended the day with three receptions.  The Eagle defense was led in tackles by Vincente Flores and Franklin Shearer who each made six stops, Shearer also had an interception.  Five different Eagle defenders made plays that resulted in negative yards for Glendale including a sack by Travis Shippen.

The win moves MSJC to 4-0 on the season while Glendale fell to 0-4.  The Eagles will be on the road next Saturday night when they travel to LA Harbor.  Kick off is set for 6 pm.
