Second Half Surge Leads Antelope Past Eagles

The MSJC football team was engaged in a defensive struggle in the first half, before Antelope Valley was able to pull away in the second half for a 33-0 victory.

The Eagles, trailing 10-0 late in the first half, had appeared to change the games momentum on a Marcus Bruce interception that set up the Eagles at the Marauder 30 yard line, but the play was called back with a late pass interference call.  After the penalty Antelope Valley was able to add a field goal to go into the locker room up 13-0.

The second half had an auspicious start for MSJC, when Antelope took the opening kick off back for a touchdown to build the lead to 20-0.  The Eagles offense threatened a couple times in the second half, but were unable to put any points on the board.

Quarterback Collin Wigley completed 13 of 25 passes on the evening for 88 yards.  Daniel Chamberlin caught 3 passes for 24 yards and Shawn Sobolewski had two catches for 40 yards.

The Eagles who fell to 0-4 on the season 0-2 in the Foothill Conference have this week off before traveling to San Bernardino Valley College on October 6th for 7 pm game.  Antelope Valley improved to 4-0 (2-0), and that makes the Eagles first 4 opponents a combined 14-2 on the season.
