Eagle Men Fall Twice at RCC Tourney
The MSJC men's basketball team had a couple of tough first halves Thursday and Friday as they dropped a pair of games in the Riverside City Holiday Tournament at RCC.
On Thursday the Eagles fell behind East LA 35-26 at the half and couldn't make it back into the game as they lost 79-61. The Eagles hot just 40% from the field going 20 for 50 on the day while being out rebounded 35-26. Jeremy Bonifacio and C. J. Hyder led the Eagles offense with 12 points a piece. Hyder connected on 3 of 5 three point shots while DeAndre Snedecor also reached double figures with 10 points. Bonifacio was also the team leader in rebounds with five.
Friday's game saw the Eagles once again get off to a slow start as they fell behind the Fullerton Hornets 43-21 at the half. MSJC dominated the second half cutting the lead all the way down to four on several occasions, but the comeback came up just short in a 65-58 loss. A. J. Walton led the MSJC offense with 11 points, he also grabbed 7 rebounds. Snedecor reached double figures for the second straight day with 10 points. Olabanji Osinaike led the Eagles on the boards with 8.
MSJC is now 5-9 on the year and will return to action with a home game this Friday December 15th. Friday the Eagles will take on West Hills College in a 7 pm contest.
MSJC's #15 DeAndre Snedecor had a pair of 10 point games for the Eagles during the RCC Holiday Tournament, but the team came up short in games against East LA and Fullerton. The Eagles will be back in action Friday night at home at 7 pm when they host West Hills. (DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC).
