Eagle Men Open Conference With Convincing Win
The MSJC men's basketball team opened defense of their four straight PCAC North titles on Saturday with an impressive home win over San Diego Miramar 95-70.
The Eagles shot the ball well all afternoon as they built a 46-36 halftime lead. MSJC would also control the boards during the contest as they ended up out rebounding the Jets 53-34. The Eagles finished the day shooting 56% from the field going 39 of 70.
MSJC had a balanced offensive attack as well with five players reaching double figures in scoring. Jared Hyder scored a game high 19 points for the Eagles while Davon Sanders had a double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. David Thompson and Olabanji Osinaike both had 15 points and DeAndre Snedecor added 14. Osinaike was a perfect 7 of 7 from the field and also grabbed 8 boards.
The win moved the Eagles to 9-11 overall on the season and they are 1-0 in PCAC North play while the Jets fell to 13-6 and 0-1. MSJC returns to action on Wednesday when they host Palomar as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The women's game on Wednesday tips off at 5 pm with the men's game to follow at 7.
DeAndre Snedecor was one of five players to score in double figures for the MSJC men's basketball team as they defeated San Diego Miramar in their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division opening game 95-70. Snedecor ended the day with 14 points and 7 rebounds. The Eagles will be at home again Wednesday night when they host Palomar as part of a doubleheader with the women's team.
