Eagle Men Pick Up Road Win at Grossmont
The MSJC men's basketball team picked up their second straight win on Wednesday night as they won a key Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division game at Grossmont 85-81.
Samuel Williams shot the lights out for the Eagles going 12 for 14 from the field and 9 for 10 from the free throw line on his way to a game high 35 points. MSJC led by just two at halftime 46-44, but pushed the lead out to as much as 10 on three separate occasions in the second. PeeWee Gardner added 14 points and 4 assists while Blake O'Donnell and Alan Palesano each scored 11 in the victory. Williams and O'Donnell both also had 7 rebounds to lead the Eagles.
The win pushed MSJC's season record to 14-6 overall, they are now 2-2 in PCAC North games, while Grossmont fell to 7-11 overall and 1-3 in league competition.
MSJC will take a break from PCAC North play over the next two weeks as they take on opponents from the PCAC South Division. The Eagles will be at home on Friday night when they host San Diego Mesa College in a 7 pm contest.
