Eagle Men Push Win Streak to Six
The MSJC men's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack Saturday afternoon to win their sixth game in a row as they defeated Barstow College 88-70.
After a back and forth first half the Eagles took a three point lead into the locker room after Jamar Cannon made one of his three three point baskets on the day with just six seconds remaining in the half. MSJC then took over the game about five minutes into the second half and slowly pulled away the rest of the way.
Josh Gouch led five Eagles in double figures with 19 points, he also had a game high 9 rebounds in the victory. Cannon and Montreal Harris both added 18 for MSJC, while Anthony Dees had 12 points and Taylor Bell 10. Bell also added 4 assists to tie with Alex Wilson for the team high on the day.
With the victory MSJC is now 14-3 overall and 2-0 in the Foothill Conference. The Eagles are ranked #2 in Southern California and #4 in the state in the latest coaches poll. MSJC will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to College of the Desert for a 7 pm game, the Eagles return home on Saturday January 14th for a 3 pm game with Chaffey College.
