Eagle Men Take Over First Place In PCAC North
The MSJC men's basketball team picked up a pivotal road victory on Wednesday as they defeated Palomar 73-52 in San Marcos in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division game.
The Eagles used a balanced offensive attack and some suffocating defense to jump out to a 40-21 halftime lead. MSJC kept the Comets from making any second half comeback with timely shooting and solid work on the boards.
Tre Nottingham led three Eagles in double figures with a team high 15 points, he also dished out 5 assists. 6'2 guard Devin Fleming added 13 points and 4 assists while Roosevelt Adams scored 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Matt Bradshaw came off the bench to add 9 in the victory.
The win was MSJC's 8th in a row and gave them their 20th win of the season against just 4 losses. It's the ninth straight season the Eagles have reached the 20 win mark and more importantly it kept MSJC unbeaten in PCAC North play with a record of 2-0. Palomar fell to 13-8 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Eagles will return to their home floor on Friday night when they host Mira Costa in a 7 pm game.
