Eagles Beat SBVC to Claim Fourth Straight PCAC Title

The MSJC men's basketball team picked up a huge road win on Friday at San Bernardino Valley to earn a share of their fourth straight Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division title.menhoopssbvc2-17.jpg

The Eagles who were two games back of the Wolverines entering the week, defeated Desert on Wednesday while SBVC opened the door by losing to San Diego Miramar.  The Eagles pushed the door down on Friday with the 89-84 win to earn a tie for the conference crown.  On Friday the game was tight most of the way with MSJC holding a one point advantage at halftime.  The Eagles did not relinquish the lead in the second half, but could never pull ahead by more than 8 on the road to victory.

Tre Nottingham continued his outstanding season as he scored 25 points and dished out 8 assists in the win.  Jaryn Taylor came up just short of a double double with 24 points and 9 rebounds.  Mat Bradshaw had a huge game behind the three point line as he went 5 of 6 beyond the arc and finished the game with 19 points.  Jeremy Bonifacio also reached double figures in scoring with 13 on the night.  SBVC's Brandon Jolly tied Nottingham for game high honors with 25, he also had a game high 10 rebounds to lead the Wolverines.

The win concluded the regular season for the Eagles at 22-10 overall, they finished 8-2 in PCAC action.  MSJC will now await the play-off pairings which will be announced on Monday.
