Eagles Cruise Past Rio Hondo
The MSJC men's basketball team raced to a 45-27 halftime lead on their way to an easy 93-75 victory Saturday afternoon in Whittier over Rio Hondo College.
Five Eagles reached double figures and 10 players scored in all as MSJC evened their Foothill Conference record at 2-2 and improved to 13-5 overall. Eric Lawton was the Eagles' top scorer with 17 points, while Dakota Downs added 16 despite playing just 17 minutes do to foul trouble. Jammall Clark added 11 in the victory. The other two MSJC players to hit double figures came off the bench as Kris Brooks scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, and Mo Aziz contributed 13 points.
MSJC will be home for a pair of games this week when they host Chaffey College on Wednesday and Victor Valley on Saturday. Wednesday's game with Chaffey is set to tip-off at 7:30 following the women's game. Both of the games this week can be heard on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or AM 1620.
