Eagles Fall to AVC, Still Earn Third Seed

The MSJC men's basketball team lost for just the second time since early December on Saturday, but it did not tarnish their Foothill Conference championship or their #3 seed in the Southern California Regional.deesavc.jpg

The Eagles, who finished the year 23-5 overall, earned the third seed in the So. Cal Region which will give them an opportunity to play home on Saturday night.  MSJC will host the winner of Wednesday's game between Riverside and LA Harbor Saturday night at 7 pm.  Complete Southern Cal bracket

On Saturday MSJC got 20 points and 11 rebounds from Josh Gouch, but AVC was able to make some big plays down the stretch to win 82-75.  Taylor Bell added 14 points while Anthony Dees had 13 and 11 rebounds and Montreal Harris had 12 and 11 rebounds.  With the loss MSJC dropped to 12-2 in the conference while AVC finished the season 21-7 and 9-5.  The Eagles finished as co-champions of the Foothill Conference along with San Bernardino Valley.
