Eagles Finish Strong Beat Desert

The MSJC men's basketball team held off a late surge by College of the Desert to pick up their 18th win of the season Friday night with a 81-68 home victory.Tykie Harris

The Eagles led by 11 at the half and never relinquished the lead in the second despite COD pulling to within 2 with under 5 minutes to play. Dakota Downs led four MSJC players in double figures with 20 points he also had 6 rebounds. Jammall Clark just missed a double double with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Jeffrey West also pulled in 9 boards and scored 11 points. Dominic Tiger-Cortes also came off the bench to add 10 points, Eric Lawton just missed double figures with 9.

The win kept MSJC in a tie for second place in the Foothill Conference with a 7-3 mark, overall the Eagles are now 18-7. MSJC is back in action Wednesday night when they travel to Whittier to take on Rio Hondo College. The Eagles return home Friday night when they host Antelope Valley.
