The Eagles jumped out of the gates ready to go and played solid for 40 minutes on their way to the upset victory.  MSJC built a 42-37 halftime lead behind the strong play of Dwayne Benjamin and Montreal Harris.  The second half saw the Pirates make several runs an MSJC, but the Eagles held them off each time with big plays by Benjamin and Harris and timely three point shooting by Sam Natt.  The Eagles final push gave them a 10 point lead with just over 2 minutes to play and they made enough free throws down the stretch to hold on for the victory.

Benjamin finished the night with a game high 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Harris scored 18 and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Natt went 4 for 5 from the three point line on his way to 16 points.  The win improved the Eagles record to 21-10 on the season while Ventura ended their year at 24-7.

MSJC will now head to San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday to take on the Wolverines in a Southern California Regional Semi-Final game.  Wednesday's game will tip off at 7 pm.
