MSJC's Carl Brown Inks Basketball Scholarship to Northridge
MSJC men's basketball player Carl Brown became the third Eagle to sign after the conclusion of the 2016-17 season this weekend when he accepted a scholarship to NCAA Division I Cal State
Brown, a 6'4 shooting guard originally from Louisville, Kentucky, was part of back to back Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division championships while playing for MSJC. Brown and his teammates put together a strong 48-17 record over the past two seasons and twice moved on to the CCCAA State play-offs.
This past season Brown earned First Team All PCAC honors after averaging 12.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Brown, an impressive three point shooter, made 90 threes on the season while knocking them down at 39.6%. Over his two year career as an Eagle Brown made 144 three point shots. As a freshman Carl averaged 8.4 points per game as MSJC went 26-6 on the year.
Cal State Northridge (CSUN), is a member of the Big West Conference and is coached by former NBA All Star and college All-American Reggie Theus. "We are very excited about the addition of Carl to our program and family. Our expectation is that he will become a valuable member on and off the court", said Theus. "When you recruit a player from Coach Springer, you know you are getting a young man who has been taught how to play the the game."
