MSJC Men Beat Grossmont; Win PCAC Title
The MSJC men's basketball team won 79-72 at home on Friday in their final regular season game giving them their second straight Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division title.
The Eagles started slowly against Grossmont, but did hold a two point lead 35-33 at the half. MSJC rallied in the second half to lead by as much as 14 on their way to the 7 point victory. Samuel Williams completed his strong regular season with a game high 31 points. Isaiah Jones had a huge night as well for the Eagles as he scored 20 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the field and added 11 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Blake O'Donnell just missed a double double as he scored 9 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The win secured a tie a top the PCAC North standings for the Eagles, with MSJC holding the tie break advantage over Palomar. The Eagles finished the regular season 22-7 overall and 6-2 in PCAC North games.
MSJC will find out their play-off pairings on Monday afternoon.
