The MSJC men's basketball team had a strong start on Friday night and carried it through all 40 minutes as the Eagles easily defeated visiting San Diego Mesa 102-71.
The Eagles had four players score in double figures and three more players score 9 points on the evening as they opened up a 47-27 lead on their way to the victory. MSJC shot a blistering 56.5% from the floor for the game including going 14 for 31 from beyond the three point line.
Samuel Williams led the way for the Eagles with 20 points and 10 rebounds despite playing just 21 minutes of the game. Isaiah Jones added 15 points, 8 boards, and 4 blocked shots while Donte Walker made four 3 pointers on his way to 14 points off the bench. Blake O'Donnell also reached double figures with 10 points. All 12 of the Eagle players who were suited up for the game scored including 9 points each from; Nikko Turner, Traonte Jones, and Tre Hunter.
The win improved MSJC's record on the season to 15-6 while Mesa fell to 5-13. The Eagles will continue their stint of crossover games against PCAC South foes on Wednesday when the travel to Imperial Valley for a 5 pm game.
