MSJC Men Shoot Past Chaffey
The men's basketball team shot 55% on the night including 10 of 20 from three point range in a 85-74 victory over visiting Chaffey College Wednesday night.
The Eagles got off to a fast start and built a 44-31 lead at the half. Four MSJC players reached double figures led by Eric Lawton's 22 points. Mo Aziz added 16 while Darren May and Kris Brooks both had 10. Lawton and Aziz combined to go 8 of 15 beyond the three point line. MSJC out rebounded the Panthers 39-24 and limited Chaffey to just 5 offensive rebounds in the game. Dakota Downs led the way on the boards for the Eagles with 10 while Lawton added 9.
The win improved MSJC to 14-5 overall and 3-2 in Foothill Conference play, while Chaffey dropped to 10-7 and 3-2. The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Victor Valley at 3 pm. You can hear the game on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or locally on AM 1620.
