Men's Basketball Drops Last Two of Fullerton Tourney
The MSJC men's basketball team continued their tough schedule on Friday and Saturday as they played two more ranked teams at the Fullerton Tournament coming up just short in both games.
On Friday the Eagles started a little slowly against the tournament hosts Fullerton and came out on the short end of a 77-61 contest. MSJC fell behind 35-23 and could not quite fight all the way back into the game. Donnell Payne led the MSJC offense with 13 points while Davon Sanders had 12. A.J. Walton added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
In Saturday's third place game of the tournament MSJC fell to Citrus for the second time in two weeks this time in a back an forth contest that ended with the Owls winning 72-70. Sanders led MSJC in scoring on Saturday with 22 points while Walton added 12. Payne finished the game with 7 points and a game high 9 rebounds.
The Eagles are now 2-4 on the season and will open play at the San Bernardino Valley Tournament on Friday against West Los Angeles at 3 pm.
