Men's Basketball Team Wins Fourth Straight
The MSJC men's basketball team got a huge game from Samuel Williams as they won their fourth straight game defeating Imperial Valley 97-82 on the road.
Williams finished the night with 42 points on 18 for 22 shooting from the field and also pulled down 7 rebounds. The Eagles built a lead of 47-36 at the half and pushed it to as much as 25 midway through the second on their way to the victory. Blake O'Donnell added a double double for MSJC with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Alan Palesano came off the bench to score 12 points on four 3 point shots. PeeWee Gardner also contributed in the win with 9 points and a game high 7 assists. Isaiah Jones anchored the defense with 6 blocked shots.
The win improved MSJC's record on the season to 16-6 while Imperial fell to 1-19. The Eagles will be on the road again on Friday as they travel to El Cajon to take on Cuyumaca at 5 pm. MSJC will host a pair of games next week starting with a Wednesday February 4th game against San Diego City. The game on the 4th will follow an MSJC women's game and is set to tip-off at 7 pm.
