The MSJC men's basketball team could not overcome the hot shooting of visiting San Diego City on Wednesday night as the Eagles fell in a non conference game 83-73 snapping a five game winning streak.
The Knights built a five point halftime lead behind some solid shooting from the field. SD City finished the game shooting 50% from the floor going 26 for 52 in the win. The Eagles cut the lead to one on three separate occasions in the second half, but couldn't get over the hump.
MSJC's Samuel Williams, who entered the game as the state's top scorer, did his part on offense for MSJC as he scored a game high 31 points. Blake O'Donnell added 17 in the loss for the Eagles and Roosevelt Adams led the way on the glass with 8 boards for MSJC.
The loss drops the Eagles to 17-7 on the season while the Knights improved to 16-8. MSJC will be back in action on Friday night when they host Southwestern in a 7 pm contest.
