Men's Basketball Wins, Sets Up Conference Title Shot

The MSJC men's basketball team celebrated Sophomore Night on Wednesday with an 87-53 win over visiting College of the Desert, setting up a showdown at San Bernardino Valley on Friday.JarynTaylorForcod2017.jpg

The Eagles who jumped out to a 41-25 halftime lead on their way to victory moved to within one game of first place SBVC who lost on Wednesday to San Diego Miramar.  MSJC will travel to San Bernardino on Friday for a 5 pm game with a chance to tie for the PCAC North title.  The Eagles are looking for their fourth straight conference championship.

On Wednesday Tre Nottingham led the way for the MSJC offense with 23 points, he got off to a quick start scoring 16 of those 23 in the first half.  Jaryn Taylor was also strong in the victory as he scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.  Curtis Weathers and Carl Brown both also hit double digits in scoring as Weathers had 11 and Brown added 10.

The win improved the Eagles season mark to 21-10 overall they are now 7-2 in conference play.
