Men's Hoops Loses Tight One With Saddleback

The MSJC men's basketball team gave themselves a chance on Saturday against 3rd ranked Saddleback, but came up just short, losing their home opener 66-63.peeweesadd.jpg

The Eagles fell behind in the first half allowing the Gauchos to take a 37-26 lead at the break.  MSJC fought their way back into the game with some big plays from Samuel Williams and some timely shooting from Alan Palesano.  MSJC had the ball with a chance to take a game tying three pointer in the last few seconds, but couldn't get a shot off.

Williams finished the game with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Pee Wee Gardner finished the afternoon with 12 points and 4 assists.  Palesano had 8 points including 2 3 pointers in the loss.

The loss dropped the Eagles to 4-3 on the season while Saddleback improved to 6-1.  MSJC will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Santa Monica for a 3 pm game.
