Mira Costa Snaps Men's Basketball 12 Game Win Streak

The MSJC men's basketball team ran into a hot shooting Mira Costa squad on Wednesday night and fell to the Spartans 94-78 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division contest intreformiracosta2-16.jpg

The Eagles struggled shooting the ball all night going 31 for 83 for the game from the field while the host team shot a blistering 61% from the floor.  MSJC was able to stay in the game in the first half by out rebounding the Spartans, but trailed at the break 45-37.  Roosevelt Adams hit a three pointer on the Eagles first possession of the second half to cut the lead to five, but that was as close as MSJC would get for the rest of the game.

Adams finished the night with 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Tre Nottingham led the Eagles in scoring with a team high 20 points.  Nottingham also grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.  Orlando Quinones and Kendall Brown both scored 8 points in the loss.  The loss was MSJC's first since a December 19th game against #1 ranked Saddleback.  The Eagles have already clinched the PCAC North title.

The Eagles, who are now 24-5 on the season and 6-1 in PCAC North play, will conclude their regular season on Friday when they host Miramar College in a 7 pm game.  MSJC will honor their sophomores prior to the start of Friday night's game.

MSJC guard Tre Nottingham had 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists on Wednesday night, but it was not enough as the Eagle men's basketball team saw their 12 game winning streak come to an end at Mira Costa 94-78.  The Eagles will play their final regular season home game on Friday night at 7 pm when they host Miramar.
