Nottingham Named Player of the Year, 4 Others Earn All PCAC

MSJC men's basketball player Tre Nottingham was named the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Year on Monday, and teammates Roosevelt Adams and Devin FlemingTreNottinghamplayeroftheyear.jpg
each earned First Team All League honors.

Nottingham, a freshman from Rancho Verde HS, led the Eagles in scoring during the regular season averaging 16.4 points per game.  He helped MSJC to their third straight PCAC North Division title and the #5 seed in the upcoming CCCAA So. Cal Regional play-offs.  Nottingham connected on 80 three point shots during the regular season, making 40% of his attempts, he also led the Eagles in assists during the year averaging 4.6 a game.

Adams, a sophomore from Hemet West Valley HS, led MSJC in rebounding during the 15-16 regular season as he pulled down 8.2 a contest.  Adams al
DevinFlemingallconf.jpgso was second on the team in scoring at 13 points per game while helping the Eagles to a 25-5 overall record.  Fleming, who is a freshman from Valley View HS, also earned First Team honors after averaging 12.2 points per game for the Eagles.  Fleming made 52 three point shots during the regular season and grabbed 4 rebounds per game.

Nick Pete and Kendall Brown were both named Honorable Mention All Conference.  Pete is a freshman from Hemet Tahquitz HS, and led the Eagles in blocked shots at 2.5 a game.  Pete also scored 6 points a game and grabbed 6.3 rebounds a night.  Brown, a Eastvale Roosevelt grad, averaged just short of double figures in scoring during the regular season at 9.1 points per game.

Patrick Springer was named the PCAC North Coach of the Year for his team's outstanding play during the regular season.

The Eagles will open up their 2016 play-off run on Friday night when they host Cypress College.  The Chargers will enter the Eagles' Nest with a record of 22-6, they tied for second place in the Orange Empire Conference.  Friday night's game will tip-off at 7 pm.
