The MSJC men's golf team opened Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on Monday as they traveled to Spring Valley Lakes in Victorville, where they shot a 403.
The Eagles are coming off a big weekend where they hosted a 17 team tournament at The Country Club at Soboba Springs, which brought together many of the top teams in Southern California. Monday Chris Hein led MSJC with a 76 while Jordan Reed was just two strokes back at 78. The Eagles other four players were all within one shot of each other as Ethan Munoz shot 82, Jackson Frye 83, Clayton Collins 84, and Alex Campos carded an 85. COD shot the low team score on Monday with a 358 followed by Cuyumaca at 378, Palomar at 380, El Camino at 391, MSJC with their 403, and Victor Valley rounded out the field with a 414.
Friday at Soboba it was Munoz leading the way for the Eagles with a 75 which was tied for the 13th lowest score out of the field of 102 players. Tanner Dice of Santiago Canyon helped his team to the team title by shooting a tournament low 68. Other MSJC scores on Friday were; Frye 80, Hein 81, Collins 82, Campos 88, and Reed 89.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday and Monday March 2nd and 3rd when they travel to Lompac to take part in the Point Conception Open.
MSJC's Ethan Munoz shot a 75 on Friday at the MSJC men's golf tournament at Soboba Springs Country Club. The Eagles hosted 16 other top So Cal teams in the tourney. Munoz's 75 was tied for the 13th lowest in a field of 102 golfers.
