Eagle Golfers Take First in 2nd PCAC Match

The MSJC men's golf team shot a 386 on Monday to earn the top spot in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match #2 and improved their record in league play to 6-2.mgolffortuckwet-18.jpg

Tyler Galleher, Kieran Blundell, Bernard Campos, and Tini Hawea all broke 80 for the Eagles as they bested College of the Desert by seven strokes to win the event.  Palomar was third, El Camino fourth, and Cuyamaca finished the day in fifth.  Galleher led the way with a 75 while Blundell and Campos both shot 76 for MSJC in the match played at Tuckwet Canyon in Beaumont.  Hawea turned in a 79 while teammates Tyler Leone (80) and Sam Proctor (81) rounded out the day for the Eagles.

The win improved MSJC's record to 6-2 through the first two PCAC matches of the season, they are currently just one loss behind first place Desert who is 7-1.  The Eagles will be right back in action on Wednesday when they travel to LaQuinta to play PCAC match #3 at the Gary Player Course at PGA West.  Tee time on Wednesday is set for 12:30 pm.
